A Belated Valentine's Date

This past Friday evening, Jason and I were able to escape for a belated valentine's date. We went to Cafe Divino, which is a Wine Bar in Old Town, and has been the destination of past date nights for us. It is always so wonderful to be in a quiet restaurant, with no children to disturb our meal.

Jason also brought home the flower arrangement pictured above, which is also always a special treat.

Oh, and did I mention that we did not have to pick up the boys from Grandma Ann's till the next morning? This allowed for a quiet, leisurely grocery shopping trip for me, and no 6 AM wake up call for us-sorry grandma.

What a Pretty Week

This week we have had some nice weather, which has started to get me excited for spring. The boys and I have been able to get out for walks, and play in the sunshine.

A Kind Moment

Last Saturday, we all spent a good part of the morning hours, working in our yard, as a family. Those of you who have seen our yard will know just how overwhelming a task that becomes, but none the less we still do it and even have fun while in the midst. The boys both love to be outside, where they can run, be loud, and most of all dig in the dirt, which in turn lets mommy and daddy get work done.

After we came inside, Levin arranged for both boys to have a snack. They had a great time sharing each others bowls of cheerios, while they waited for lunch to be served.

Mommies Night Out!

Last night I was able to enjoy an evening out with a few other moms, and let me tell you, I feel so refreshed. It was so great to actually be able to have conversation without constantly being interrupted.

We went downtown to the Matador, for chips and salsa and margaritas. Of course, the time went too fast, but it was still so nice to get out with other moms.

It could not have come on a better day, as our afternoon yesterday was a bit rough mostly because Levin decided not to take a nap. As Jason said, "Levin apparently has not learned the phrase 'when mama isn't happy, ain't nobody happy'".

I did bring the camera, but naturally forgot to use it, so sorry no pictures to share.

So now its off to another day, feeling refreshed and ready to begin again.

My Big Boys

This morning, both boys went in for checkups at the doctor, which was an adventure as usual. They are both healthy, and doing well. Levin now weighs 34# and is 37" tall, which is almost exactly the size I was at three years old. Philip on the other hand is a big boy, which we knew. He now weighs 29# and is 31" tall. Not even a surgery could cause him to loose weight. The boy loves his milk! So, a very uneventful morning at the doctor for us all.

All I Needed Was Cheese

Yesterday the boys and I packed up and headed off to the grocery store, much to every ones chagrin, in search for cheese, that's it. I hesitated to go, only because it takes longer to load, unload, load, and unload again, than it does to actually shop. Anyways, an hour later we were home with no cheese.

It turns out that there whole computer system had crashed. The boys and I patiently waited for at least half an hour in a line that was growing longer by the minute. The employees at the store came through the line at least twice to hand out cookies to all the customers waiting in line.

When they announced again, over the intercom, that the wait could take another five minutes or longer and we were all welcome to take a seat over in the deli while we waited, the boys and I decided to abandon our cart and head back home. It was lunch time and naps were quickly to follow that.

So, last night I went to a different store location with a longer list, and no children in tow, in hopes of completing my one and only goal for the day. I was successful, but had I come a little sooner that may not have been the case. Shortly after I had begun my shopping mission, I heard over the intercom, that the computer systems were now back up and running. Your kidding, right? It's funny because I almost asked before beginning, to make sure everything was ok, but figured that could not happen twice in one day. What are the odds?
