Recommended For Ages 4+

Legos have yet to become a daily activity in our house, but today I complied when Levin brought out his little building set geared for ages 4 and up. Philip wanted to get in on the activity too, and so he eagerly jumped in to help build. I was impressed with what he came out with. Maybe I was more impressed by watching him create his structures. He gazed over the pile of pieces, looking for just the right piece, almost as if he knew what he was looking for. Maybe Philip is going to be the boy to take after his fathers love of engineering, beginning now, at age two.

Pregnancy Update

I was at the doctor today, and was given a good report. For those who may not have heard, I was having an increased number of headaches preceded by blurred vision. This of course can be a symptom of preeclampsia, which is never good, so they took blood last week to check and see if I did indeed have preeclampsia. The test came back negative, as did my strep B test. So, as things stand now, I am still able to plan and give birth at The Birthing Inn-Yeah! I am registered there, so now we wait until the moment arrives. My only concern now, will be that I make it to the Birthing Inn in enough time. My labors have gone faster each time, which I am fine with, but last time we made it just ten minutes before Philip was born-Yikes! Yes, I have been "lectured" by my midwives from the beginning of this pregnancy, about coming in earlier, so we will see what happens.

We hope that in a few weeks we have news of a new little Van Gilder boy to share with you all. Until then I will stick to keeping up on the house, laundry, and children.

*Edit* I should add that the headaches have gone away.... at least for now.

Before It's Too Late

Since Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, we spent this morning working on a few little projects. First we made cupcakes together-I finished them up this afternoon-and then we did a little painting project, involving potatoes and hearts (and eventually paint brushes).

35 Weeks

Yesterday the baby and I reached 35 weeks along, which only means that in two weeks we can start trying to bring this little guy out. I may be the only one ready, seeing as nothing has been prepared for this little guy. How much does a little one need anyways?

If my ocular migraines keep up, we will be hoping that this baby comes closer to his due date than his older brother Philip did. Of course, only time will tell. Though, I do hope he decides to turn around, from being sunny side up, before labor begins.

And, because I know you have all been waiting, here is a picture taken and posted just for you all. Hey, it only took me five weeks to get one up.

Progress

So since my last post regarding knitting, I have progressed. I moved on to complete two hats, and a wash clothe. Since beginning knitting, two years ago, I have never actually finished a project till now. Learning a new hobby is so much more rewarding when you actually finish something before giving up or moving on. So, I think it is safe to say that I now enjoy knitting. I started another hat for this new little guy, that I hope to finish soon, and will show you then.

This hat is supposed to have ear flaps (shown below) attached, but I am not sure I like how they look. I even made them smaller then the pattern, but I think I will either redo them or leave them off.
