A few weeks ago, while cousin Erika was tickling Philip, she noticed a red bump under his chin. We initially thought nothing of it, until the following evening when we actually felt it. Whatever it was, it did not seem totally normal and so we made an appointment with the Doctor to find out more. We were given a tentative diagnosis, and then referred over to an Ear Nose and Throat Doctor.
Today, we were seen by the ENT and told the lump could be one of two things, both cyst like in form. It is nothing serious, but nonetheless Philip will be going in for surgery next Thursday morning to have the lump removed. We should only need to be at the hospital for the day, but in the rare case it could be an overnight stay.
Your prayers would be coveted as we approach this situation, knowing that this is all in the Lord's hands.

Where is he having his surgery done? MB? Oh poor little guy! December will be a rough month in his little one year old life, two trips to the hospital! I don't think he's going to trust us hospital folk ever again. ;)

Yes the surgery will be at Mary Bridge.
i remember being incredibly scared when Ethan had his surgery at Mary Bridge for a hernia repair, but they were very nice there and everything went so smoothly. They have a tv screen set up in the waiting room so you know where he is each step of the process. Thankfully he's so little still and he probably won't remember a thing, plus the little ones heal amazingly well... I couldn't believe how fast Ethan's incision site healed, and you can hardly see a scar anymore. I think the hardest part of the procedure was withholding food from him before the operation... he was NOT happy and a very hungry baby when he woke up!!! So, I'm sure you're probably really nervous, but believe me, something like a cyst removal should be a really simple procedure and it will be over before you or he knows it :o)
